Inception to Reality
The Spark
Every creative journey begins with a moment of wonder. For me, it was the first time I stood in front of a platycerium fern — a staghorn whose sculptural fronds curved and flowed like something dreamed up by an artist. I couldn’t stop staring. It was alive, but it felt like a work of art. That moment planted the seed for what would eventually grow into Moss & Frond.
The Vision
I’ve always believed nature doesn’t need our embellishment — it already carries its own elegance. What it does need is framing, intention, and context. I wanted to explore how plants, especially rare ferns and botanicals, could be presented not just as greenery, but as living sculptures — designed to transform interiors in the same way fine art or architecture can.
The Process
Moss & Frond was built on the marriage of craft and care. Mounting a fern on driftwood or cork bark is not just about horticulture — it’s about composition, proportion, and presence. Each piece is designed as a one-of-a-kind work, evolving with time, and rewarding care with character.
The Reality
What began as an idea has become a practice. Today, Moss & Frond creates custom commissions and signature pieces that live in homes, offices, and modern interiors. They’re not just decorative accents — they’re conversations between nature and design, breathing life into the spaces where people live and gather.
The Invitation
Moss & Frond is still young, but the vision remains rooted in that original spark: elevating plants into art. If you’ve ever looked at a fern, a leaf, or a frond and felt something more than simple greenery, you already understand the heart of this work.
